John, Denis and Pat did a very interesting piece at the Nayoro contest in 2006. They created a hollow sphere, with a hole cut at the top to let light in, and a small hole in the side to view the inside of the sphere. Inside, they had carved a female face looking up, then blocked up the top half of the sphere, igloo style.
It was quite enchanting, as people walked through the show, and only saw the big sphere. It was necessary to change the ropes around the piece to allow the public to peer into the hole.. followed by a chorus of ” ahhhhhh !!”
